How to make Puff pastry, Chicken Patties and Cherry Puff





HOW TO MAKE PUFF PASTRY:

INGREDIENTS:



1.       Master puff/unipuff/vegetable fat or shortening:  400 gm

2.      Plain flour:  500g

3.      Egg:  1

4.      Salt:  1 tsp

5.      Oil:  4 tbs

6.      Water chilled:  As required for making dough

METHOD:

1.       Mix flour+egg+salt+oil+chilled water (as required) to make a medium soft dough (not very hard or very soft)
2.      Cover the dough and keep rest for 10 minutes.
3.      Make small pieces of master puff/unipuff/vegetable fat or shortening.
4.      Roll the dough in a rectangular shape and put master puff/unipuff/vegetable fat or shortening in the middle and then fold it from left, right, up and down. 
5.      Keep this in fridge.
6.      Take it out and roll it and then fold it as the same method then fridge it.
7.      Do this one more time.

This is a basic recipe to make puff pastry, and can make different biscuits and different patties with different fillings, both sweet and savoury.
